Endless Digital Birthdays Copeland Gallery 16 Jul 2019

We are at the Copeland Gallery for the first public launch of London-based multimedia collective Endless Digital Birthdays. Featuring music, art, performance and print in support of the Julius Little Foundation which raises money for young people with mental health issues.

It’s a hot night and in the yard there are masses of young artists and a hip crowd drinking and chatting.  The Copeland Gallery is a large white walled building and right outside there is a bar, tattoo parlor and a draft sake company with a large colourful graffiti.  We walk inside to view the contemporary art and in the midst of it all bands are playing.

Everyone is quite jolly because there is complimentary beer with the ticket.  Endless Digital Birthdays come on after Wooze around 11pm.  The band consists of Fleming Mason (vocals, guitar), Angie Spike (guitar, backing vocal), Mike Dunlop (bass), Harry also known as Mackwood Ling (drums) and Finn Carter (keyboard).

Fleming and Harry started Endless Digital Birthdays having known each other from making music together since childhood. Angus joined later.  More recently, Harry has introduced Michael, who he studies jazz with at Guildhall, and Finn to complete EDB’s line up from February 2019.

The songs on the night are “Untitled (Improv Jam), “Untitled (Siren), GMRGRLP, Untitled (Forest), “Theme for Imaginary Duel”  and “Luigonair”.  The band is so fresh that the lads have still not decided on the names.  Everyone is jumping to this electro rock wonder and having an absolute blast.  We will be following this band with great expectations.
